An exciting few months ahead for all NATT+ members.

Next month sees the annual NATT+ conference. ‘Mission Possible’ and will be held in the stunning Highcliff Marriott Hotel in Bournemouth on the 15 and 16 March. This will be a time to meet friends and colleagues old and new, hear the latest news on Gypsy, Roma and Traveller (GRT) education and have an opportunity to view and buy resources.

This years' conference focuses on Roma and looks at the current situation in this country and across Europe and also at learning more about English as an additional Language.

We will hear from the Education Minister, the Commissioner for Children, OFSTED and from the Department of Education. There will be opportunities in workshops to learn more about EAL in early years and secondary, Roma issues and collaborative learning. The whole conference will close with an inspiring talk on life skills coaching for personal and professional development.

The conference will see the launch of new NATT+ book of the winners from last years' Gypsy Roma Traveller History Month (GRTHM) ‘A Moment in Time’ competition. It will also see the launch of this years' competition, ‘Wish you were here’. This GRTHM contest for children and young people has the theme of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Both events will be celebrated in June this year. It will consist of a set of postcards with GRT pictures from 60 years ago and today.  Children will be asked to write or illustrate postcards imagining they are either in the postcard of 60 years ago or in the one of today. A set of 8 postcards will be sent to nominated schools and given free to NATT+ members. Other information and postcards will be found and downloaded from this website in the next few weeks.

I look forward to seeing many of you in Bournemouth or at the next NATT+ AGM in Durham on the 15th May. More details to follow.
