Gypsy Roma Traveller History Month 2010

June 2010 saw the celebration and communication of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History and Culture nationally throughout the month for the third time.

Exhibitions

The GRTHM team brought two important exhibitions to Britain for the first time. Both concerned the Holocaust against the Roma Sinti.

Otto Pankoks "Sinti"exhibition launched at Greenwhich University and Professor of Romani Studies Thomas Acton also co-ordinated a History Seminar which looked at the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller experience of Holocaust, Genocide and persecution.

From 31st of May until June 20th the definitive exhibition concerning the Roma Sinti Holocaust experiance was hosted by the Arts Pavillion Gallery Mile End.

The experience of the exhibition was enhanced by Educators to surrounding the exhibition with a programme of events that highlighted the rich and enduring culture, History and contribution of London's GRT Citizens.

Eva Sajovic assisted GRTHM National Co-ordinator Patricia Knight in curating the exhibition.

2010 National Competition

2010's National Competition was a poetry competition.
