Raising the Attainment of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller Pupils

Guidance for Initial Teacher Education students, trainees and newly qualified teachers

Added:
26 June 2011

This document has been written for  trainee teachers who at some point will almost certainly have Gypsy, Roma and Traveller pupils in their school.

It is important that they know about these communities because research shows they are the groups most at risk of underachievement in the education system.

This booklet has been compiled by Chris Derrington, Linda Lewins and Anthea Wormington on behalf of NATT+.

You can download it below. There are two versions; a page by page version for online reading, or a version set as A4 spreads more suitable for printing.
